About the Ampex ATR-102

The Ampex ATR-102 is the most celebrated professional 2-track tape machine ever made — the final step in countless legendary recordings from the 1970s to today. Its transformers, amplifiers, and the physical interaction of tape with the head produces a harmonic richness, compression, and 'glue' that defines what records are supposed to sound like.

The PH-ATR102 CLAP emulation models the complete ATR-102 signal path — transformers, amplifiers, Repro, Sync, and Input paths — with selectable tape types, speeds, record levels, bias, and the noise, hum, wow, and flutter characteristics that define the analog tape experience.
