About the Fairchild 670

The Fairchild 670 is the undisputed heavyweight of all compressors — a 65-pound, 8U, 20-tube dual-channel variable-mu limiter that is the single most valuable mass-produced piece of audio equipment ever made. Only 500–1,000 were produced. Originals sell for $30,000–$50,000. The Beatles, Elvis, Sinatra — it's on all of them.

The PH-FAIRCHILD CLAP emulation models the 670's legendary 6386 variable-mu tubes, dual-channel compression, six time constant settings (from 0.2ms attack to 25-second release), dual-mono and stereo operation — the most iconic compressor of the 20th century in CLAP format.
